struggled with ECU most of the game. but be thankful they are ranked at all...should have dropped out of top 25 after losing in week 1

I think they will. This is the first year of the CFP, and the CFP Committee wants to establish good credibility and avoid controversy, which they get by matching their eventual selections with #s 1-4. If they don't select the same as #s 1-4, then they will face a lot more criticism, which they won't want.

Bwahahaha! They will have a grand time when we get to the end of the season, and there are two undefeated teams and six one-loss teams. Expanding the playoff will only serve to increase the controversy as it will further lower the barrier to inclusion, and thus increase the number of teams who claim to have surpassed that threshold.

Avoid controversy indeed. They have guaranteed it.

ASU is starting to creep up a bit higher than it needs to be feels too high since I don't think they'll be able to stop the run this year (super young defense), but I can't look at any of the teams behind them and say they're clearly a better team.

Yep. FSU are the reigning champs. Until they are beaten they should stay #1 unless they lay eggs against duds multiple times. That is fine.

Its not just that they are defending champs its that they are also the most talented team on paper. When your BOTH the most talented team on paper, and defending champs its very hard to jump them.

I didn't think there would be anything more satisfying than watching Urban Meyer's team get their asses kicked @ home.... but the more I think about it, the only thing that would top it is watching Saban cry about the speed of the game after Oregon packs their shit in.
