Consider the Calder Cup finals to be your methadone slowly weening you into the offseason. You get a good look at John Carlson and Karl Alzner, who should be full-time Caps' next year, as well as Michael Neuvirth, who will be the Caps #2 in the net in 10-11.

So who's watching?

Not sure. It's on Comcast in the mid-Atlantic, but I don't know about other regions. You can watch games at the AHL site for like $12/game (ridiculous!), but I'm sure someone will stream a free broadcast somewhere online.

I just hope the Bear's goalie doesn't "freak" out at attack another player again.

I noticed your Avatar, but I wanted to see how long it would take before you had to mention it. Much funnier that way.

I had a Trollerblade Avatar when I first joined, but it was a bit hard to see and read.

Yeah, IPW, I just thought I'd give the first person to mention it a rep. point since I was gonna change my pic anyway.

Doh! I can't give Ritari any more rep. right now. It'll have to wait a few days.

But sure, we can make this the GNT.

Bears looking good early, but a good chance for Hershey there.

Let's go Bears! Let's go Perreault!

Ugh.. dumb penalty puts the Stars up by 1.

Pretty important game tonight. They just said the winner of game 5 has won 17 of 18 series tied 2-2.

This game is eerily reminiscent of a certain Capitals' series. :(

Wooo!!! Hershey with some stellar PP pressure and finally tie it up just as it expired. Great individual effort by Chris Bourque and good finish by Brouchard.

I don't really know. I know this is their first season in the AHL. A quick look at their roster shows most of their forwards are pretty young (mostly 25 & under), while most of their defensemen have some experience (largely late 20s, early 30s).

I know the Bears are kinda both extremes - a bunch of solid AHL lifers mixed with some very young future Caps' prospects.

This game is insane. It could easily be a 5-4 game right now. Great job by Clime and Neuvirth. Bears playing better, but it's anyone's game.

OT yet again! 1-1 after 60 minutes. This has been the best hockey of the series so far me thinks and the announcers seem to think so as well.
