Goldy too, possibly. Second consecutive that his strikeouts have increased and his OPS has decreased. His SLG has dropped off a cliff this year. At the risk of sounding racist, although not intentionally trying to, I've noticed that a lot of Jewish players hit the wall at around age 32 and Goldschmidt turns 32 in a couple months.

Votto's been coming around lately, and Goldschmidt looked done for a good part of the season last year before he turned it on and finished really strong.

Personally, I'd love nothing more than for both of them to be done being productive, but I'm not ready to write either off yet.

I don't think it is a race/religion thing. It actually happens to a lot of players around that age (maybe less in the 90's-early 00's when steroids were rampant). Pujols is still banging out homeruns but he is nowhere near the impact player he was when he was in his late 20's. Joe Mauer, Ryan Howard, Mo Vaughn.......

No worries, doesn't sound racist at all. I'm just having trouble determining whether the theory is accurate since I'm not really sure which of the mlb players are Jewish. It would be nice if there was some way to tell-maybe a star on the uniform or something....
