Anyone been to Wakatobi or Anilao?

We are looking at both for 2020. Yes, I know it's a year off but some of these places you have to start booking a year in advance to get into.

Anilao, Philipines for macro & muck diving/snorkeling

Wakatobi, South Sulawesi for macro diving/snorkeling.

Any info or advice appreciated, especially the best route to Wakatobi...either through Tokyo/Singapore to Bali or from Sydney to Bali, then private jet over.
