Vanek being hurt didn't help you guys. That along with no shows from Roy and Connolly sealed your fate Boss.

The biggest issue for you guys was probably the size difference though. The Bruins just kind of out-muscled the Sabres a bit and had their way with them. Adding size to the Sabres roster should be a huge priority for Regier over the summer if you want more playoff success.

I do think the Pens wouldn't have much a problem with Habs though. The Pens are a better team then the Caps are or at least a better team when it comes to the playoffs.

Urkie I agree but a player that was out that no one talks about was Hecht. He is one of those guy's that rarely makes a mistake kills penalties and still manages to score 20 goals a season. Not a sniper or anything but I remember seeing a stat a year a go that the Sabres record with him out of the line-up isn't pretty.

A very underrated and under appreciated player. When the Sabres were on the PK and have to use Roy, Connolly and Pomminville it disrupts the flow. At least three times during the series the Sabres killed off a penalty and went on the PP right after that and those guys were gassed.

Not making excuses but I think most knowledgeable hockey fans know the effect this can have with the flow of the game.

Oh well, almost all teams have to deal with injuries this time of year and it's up to the others to pick it up and obviously the Sabres didn't do it.

I also agree the Sabres need to get bigger.

Sorry for the long post.

Oh that's quite alright Boss. I was just trying to give you an outsiders perspective. I had forgotten about Hecht though. He was a big loss for you guys and he's one of the most under-appreciated players around. A player every team wants but doesn't get talked about much.

Injuries do suck though. Just look at my Sens...sigh

I have been so impressed with the way the Habs have played. Again win or lose tonight they gave it one hell of a shot.

Any thoughts from Pens fans as to who they would rather play? I'm not sure how the Habs and Pens matched up this year and IPW is right, The Habs played the Caps tough in their four games. I know the playoffs are different but it didn't help my Sabres.

Oh for me I definatley was the Habs to win because I really dont like the Pens chances against the Caps. Its not the most honorable way to get to the cup but I dont care. Just want to see my team win but I dont for a second think that playing the Habs will be that much easier than the Caps.

Yea the Sens always seem pretty beat up especially around playoff time. I hand it to you Sens fans for dealing with the frustration of injuries. I would really like to see them have a healthy run before Alfie retires. Hes such an awesome player. Sens are always tough and like Buffalo.....your time is coming.

5-1 Caps. OV with 2, Laich, Knuble, and Green for Washington. Squid for the Habs.

there's already been one upset in the east with the Philly triumph over NJ. I have my doubts we are going to see another one. The fairy tale runs out tonight on the Canadiens.

Habs go up 2-0 early. Varly is pulled for Theodore. Meanwhile Halak goes into insane mode. With 9 minutes left, Ovechkin scores to make it 2-1. With under a minute left, Semin ties it up. Crowd is going insane. Before the end of regulation a harmless shot from Hall Gill (really?) from just inside the red line takes a weird bounce past Theodore for the gwg.

3-2 Habs.

I expect the Caps to take this one tonight but wouldn't be very surprised if the Habs do pull it off. I've been impressed with their overall team speed this series and they would be a tough out for any of the remaining Eastern teams
