Yep back home again. Got to see the grandson but I must work on letting the little guy know hockey fans are superstitious. The Sabres went up 2-0 in the one game and my daughter in law put his little Sabres outfit on after the first period and we ended up losing.

I tried like hell to find a Bruins outfit for him to wear for the next game but no luck.
Boss, I asked you this a couple of times before over there, but I don't believe I got an answer...did you ever make that stop in Cranberry PA to Primanti's?

2-1 Caps. Backstrom with both goals, OV a pair of assists. Tomas Jagr with the Canadien's goal. Halak with 40+ saves.

And the easiest prediction of the night - Semin with zero points.

6-2 Caps. I just get the feeling that it'll be a blowout as game sevens are tough on the nerves.

No I haven't yet. I take that route when going to South Carolina. I take I 79 right thro Pittsburgh but I have not forgotten and will probably be going that way in a month or so.

When I do I will need some directions from you as to where to get off. I think there is an exit marked Cranberry if I'm not mistaken. I definitely want to try one of those suckers because they sound great !!

I don't want to derail the thread but if you get a chance PM me because they make all different kinds if I remember correctly.

In fact if any Pittsburgh area people want to PM me with suggestion on the best one to get feel free to do so. Thanks.

1-0 Caps in the 9th OT. Everyone is tired, Varlamov catches the Habs on a bad line change and scores the game winner on a breakaway.

I think this is a game that the Caps have to win for so many reasons. The fallout that would occur if they lost would be indescribable.

With the Caps at home and facing a possible first round elimination, I say they take this game 5-2, but Halak makes over 35 saves in the loss.

I think we all are waiting for a Pens/Caps ECF, right?

Assuming the Caps win, it would depend on how they respond. They've looked physically outmatched at times against a much smaller Canadiens team. They may fare much worse against the Flyers.

I'm not surprised that the Caps are not dominating the Habs in this series. If you saw how the Habs played against them in the regular season, you could tell that they match-up pretty well against them. They went 2-2 against them in the regular season with a win in OT and a loss in the SO.

I think if the Habs do lose tonight, game 2 will haunt them.

My prediction is 6-4 Caps and yes....someone will get the ENG and I will just call that goal scored Semin.

I'll say the Caps score early and often and end up winning the game 6-2.

Halak is a good story and all but he can't repeat a performance like last game which I think he'll need to do if the Habs are going to win this game.

If I owned the Caps and they lost, some heads would roll. They need to go deep this season.

And no, not everyone is hoping for a Pens-Caps ECF. :)

Game 2 is the one that will hurt should they lost the series. You cannot be up 4-1 with 2 minutes left in the second and lose that game. You cannot let the Capitals tie it up with less than 2 minutes left in regulations....

Oh well.

I have been so impressed with the way the Habs have played. Again win or lose tonight they gave it one hell of a shot.

Any thoughts from Pens fans as to who they would rather play? I'm not sure how the Habs and Pens matched up this year and IPW is right, The Habs played the Caps tough in their four games. I know the playoffs are different but it didn't help my Sabres.

Vanek being hurt didn't help you guys. That along with no shows from Roy and Connolly sealed your fate Boss.

The biggest issue for you guys was probably the size difference though. The Bruins just kind of out-muscled the Sabres a bit and had their way with them. Adding size to the Sabres roster should be a huge priority for Regier over the summer if you want more playoff success.

I do think the Pens wouldn't have much a problem with Habs though. The Pens are a better team then the Caps are or at least a better team when it comes to the playoffs.
