The Browns are an interesting bunch. With Gordon out, they should have a top 10(5?) draft pick, and because of the Watkins trade, they have Buffalo's number one pick next year as well. They also get Gordon back and will have a year under Johnny Football's belt. In a year or two, things might get interesting up there

24 Hours is the wait period before a player can be signed to the practice squad. This allows everyone who's cut to clear waivers

I read Williams may go to the practice squad. I didn't realize he was eligible, but I'm all for it. I have to wonder if the Cowboys were interested in Mallet or not. They have to be pretty high on the kid they have if they kept him on the 53

My understanding is Veterans (4 years) are FAs immediately after being cut. All others are on waivers for 24 hours. If no one claims them then they can become FAs. So the Steelers had to claim Webb, not sign him. If the Texans had also claimed him he would be a Texan.

Mallett would have been interesting depending on the price. I don't mind Weeden as our backup, but don't want him as our QB for the future and would like to find that guy. Maybe it's Vaughn, but that may be a little wishful thinking at this point.
