Ive been out all day , only seen who we cut. Any word if we are looking at anyone???

Just scouring the cuts QBs- Shaw and Harnish surprising to me. Lots of pretty good backs it looks like. I hate that we cut Williams. WRs- have to admit I was hoping Miles would get cut, knew it wouldnt happen though- love that guy. Burleson- Linehan connection??? If you get cut from Clevelands WR corp though its kind of like getting cut from the Dallas defense- you better look for a new line of work. A few DTs and DEs that are notable I guess but nothing jumps off the screen.

you cant tell me that there are not better players out there than Randle,Clutts,Heath,Wetzel,Hayden etc. These player suck. Heath is probably the worst safety in Cowboys history.

And then don't forget, assuming a team didn't go below 53 players they need to cut a guy if they sign another guy. So for teams like us with guys like Heath and Lawrence that do nothing but STs, the ability to improve those spots should be there.

I read the other day on this forum that we have the 18th slot. Does that mean the 18th for every player??? For example - Im just using these names because I know they were cut but this doesnt mean I want these guys.

Im assuming you put in claims for the guys cut. Lets say we put claims on Connor Shaw, Chandler Harnish, Mikel Leshore, Champ Bailey, and Michael Sam. If Houston puts claims in on all 5 - they get them because they are the first slot. ???

In other word Houston can have whoever they want??

..Couldn't agree more.. I don't see how Heath is still on the team.. can't cover or tackle.. unless
he's good buds with Jerry.. that's the only way he stays on this team

For the most part, yes, but not exactly. For example, some guys could still be moved to IR.

What about the Houston question- Do they get whoever they want- or after they get 1, they move to the back of the line??

Common sense would say that they make a pick and then the #2 team is up like the draft, but if I remember from previous years (it may have changed in the new CBA) each player goes on waivers independently and Hou can take them all. Sounds dumb and may be wrong, but I thought that was how it worked. But remember, they need to drop a player for each player they pick up.

I doubt we sign any vet's until after week two, since their contracts would be guaranteed this year if we did...unless that rule changed this offseason

Very good point. I thought it was one week but I may be wrong. I read about signing vets the other day.

I actually read it today. According to Todd Archer, if they are on the roster week 1 then they are guaranteed their salary. He thought thats why we cut Nwaneri or said it played a role.
