One would think huh. I mean they have plenty of books on there that are really cheap but the new ones are still more than you would think.

Yeah I'll be able to get it for 8 on the kindle. So much more convenient. All I need is wi-fi and I have it in about 5 seconds.

I dont think I can get with the Kindle...something about reading a novel off a screen doesnt seem right. You like it? Doesnt strain your eyes?

I like James Patterson books, Harlan Coben, and Linwood Barclay.

However, I am big time into treasure hunting and adventure, so I like Dan Brown and Clive Cussler.

Clive Cussler's books are good. Matthew Reilly has good ones. The Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child collaborations are good. The Discworld books by Terry Pratchett are genius.

Nope, it's not like reading from a backlit screen or monitor or even a color tablet. It really does feel like reading pages from a paperback book.

On this board? I just bought a Kindle and I'm trying to find some books to put on it. Any suggestions.

Can't go wrong with the classics.

Pride and Prejudice- Jane Austen
David Copperfield- Charles Dickens
Great Expectations- Charles Dickens
A Tale of Two Cities- Charles Dickens
Moby Dick- Herman Melville
Macbeth- William Shakespeare
Don Quixote of La Mancha- Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra

If you're into books about war and history then I have some suggestions for WW2 era reads that I read during high school and throughout my history major.

The Painted Bird is a sick twisted tale that gives a good look into what 1940's Poland was like. I read that for a War and the Human Response senior level class.

Night By Elie Wiesel is a short (about 100 pages) but passionate and disturbing read from a holocaust victim based upon his experience.

The Invisible Bridge is great if you do or end up liking Night.

The Moon is Down is also awesome.

I'm currently reading Slaughterhouse Five and loving it.

I love Dickens, Tale of Two Cities may be my favorite book ever, but I absolutely detested reading any Shakespeare and thought Moby Dick was one of the most boring reads I've ever done.

My favorite book ever was

The Count of Monte Cristo

Back in the day when I used to read. Gave it up about 10 years ago.

Kindle Fire arrived yesterday, cant wait to charge it up and see how she goes!!

My lady just got one earlier this week. It runs so smoothly. I was extremely impressed and plan on picking one up for myself soon.
