Raul Ibanez can toe the line for a while, as can Schuck and Cowgill when Josh or Albert goes to DH (assuming Calhoun can bump to 1st?) -- but what happens when they need a lift to compete in the midst of summer?

Are there any C.J. Cron backers out there? I think I am. There's gotta be some pop there, but still should produce hits (for points leagues), kid struck out 155 times over more than 1000 at bats the last two years in the minors. Had a good showing this offseason in the AFL and showed he's not lost this spring.

What up?

Not sure if you want Calhoun to ever play first... he is only 5'10"

apparently, Calhoun is listed as the back up 1B on some sites...

Kendrick played 1st, he isn't very tall...

but anyway, nobody has any input whatsoever?

well, I just added him as my 25th player... (we draft 24, then add one a day to make a 27 man roster)

here's to hoping I'm right! :suds:

Hamilton out for a couple months. First shot went to Shuck (not surprising). If he and Cowgill can't hold the fort, could be the chance Cron needs to sneak his bat in there. Good first week in Salt Lake.

I'm sorry I did not see this sooner. Had I, I would have voted for Shuck. He played better this spring as far as I saw myself, and, is highly thought of by the Angels. Good luck with Cron though.

Yeah, if they platoon Shuck/Cowgill/(Ibanez to some extent), I'm sure they'll be fine. Just makes me sad...

Yikes, down goes Calhoun! Cowgill everyday or platooned with Ibanez in the OF opening up a DH spot? Paging Mr. Cron, paging Mr. Cron.

And it's on! I just hope they give him a chance against RHP too... and I hope he runs with the opportunity! Let's go C.J.C., don't be another one of my A.J. Pollocks!

Nice TKO...you were on this one for a while. I hope he gets his ABs too...sorry for not giving any feedback on this thread.
I've never really been big on Cron, but he does have power for sure. BB/K rate is worrisome and if his hit tool doesn't play, I worry about the dingers. Still exciting when a good prospect comes up and I'd love it if he does well. I want them all to do well haha.

Mike Scioscia is the worst manager in the league. I'm not biased, it is what it is. Wrapped in a big red bow, a good contact-power 1b/DH bat who is young and ready to enter his prime, and he is being wasted because of this egotistical, terrible manager, for a near-retired, no power DH only who can't even see the Mendoza line. Now, if by chance, Cron gets one game against RHP after so many consecutive Ibanez starts, and goes 0-fer due to splinters in his ass, he will surely ride pine once again, because leashes are only for guys who can't hit. Raul would be much better served as a LHB pinch hitter late in games where he would be "worth" the money he's making, but the worst manager in the league can't/refuses to see this, and the Angels powers that be paid the Sciosciapath (thanks Chef) too much money to do anything about it.

:gaah:

...didn't even mention Freese, Stewart, Navarro (over Green)... but the Ibanez thing is just too much.

It's obvious I'm the only one who really cares about this... but last night, Cron goes 2-4 AGAIN with a HR off a RHP... hear that Scioscia? Now, let's see if he's benched tonight against Felix.

Cron & Grant Green on the bench tonight. I'm not going to question why he doesn't play either of these guys more, but I REALLY question why Raul Ibanez is in the lineup. He had a power resurgence last year, OK fine, good for him. This year he looks like a finished 42 year old, thank him for his services and all he's done for the sport and move on already.

Nothing bothers me more than a player that doesn't know when to throw in the towel (Right Manny?)

Something bothers me more, managers who play those players when they have better players half their age picking splinters.

Good Point.
Isn't Sam an Angels fan? Where is he during all of this :noidea:.
