WR Andre Johnson to skip Texans mandatory minicamp - CBSSports.com

Andre Johnson, who isn't sure he wants to return for yet another Texans rebuilding season, will skip this week's mandatory team minicamp, his advisor and uncle Andre Melton told the Houston Chronicle on Monday.

“Right now, that's all that he can do,” Melton said. “We've done what we can do, so we're just sitting there waiting.”

If Johnson doesn't show, the team could fine him nearly $70,000. Johnson, who skipped all of the voluntary OTA sessions, also could forfeit his $1 million workout bonus. Melton said he's not sure if Johnson will hold out from training camp, even despite the best efforts of running back Arian Foster.

“Nobody's been here as long as I have. You just kind of look at things; I've been thinking about things this offseason,” Johnson said last month. “And I just kind of wonder sometimes, ‘Is this still the place for me?'"

Johnson is under contract in Houston for the next three seasons, scheduled to make a combined $31.5 million in base salary from 2014-16.

He could be make a huge difference to the playoff picture if he can force a move, especially if he's willing to give some money back to do so.

Think the Patriots will try for him if in fact this all goes down.

I'd be shocked to see the money work. I would certainly not be opposed to it, though.

IF BB wanted him badly enough he'd get it done. I just don't think he wants him that badly.
