Less than a week out have thing become any clearer? Who ya got?

I still personally like the idea of drafting a second bookend CB and building through strengths. But it's also become clear that no CB in this class is worth a top 10 pick.

And since this doesn't appear to be a team that even intends to compete next year, so trading down for extra picks or future picks and grabbing any of the top 3 CB's looks very possible to me.

Parsons is IMO the best defender in this draft, and with the amount of holes and lack of talent on this team, we have the luxury to always take BPA. Still probably need to trade down for him though, I'd be upset if they took him at #7, a small trade down might make him more likely than a CB. I really don't see any Edge rushers or elite DT's that this defense should build around.

Staying at #7 I think Pitts and Chase are the obvious 2 best players in the draft. Probably both are gone by 7, but if the right combination of QB's and Tackles goes there is a chance one of them could slide. I think either would instantly be the pick.

Sewell looks legit at LT, Slater doesn't excite me as much, but still looks good. Upgrading the O-Line for our future QB is never a bad idea.

But to me it looks like our pick is most likely to be whichever they choose between Waddle and D. Smith. Looking at our current roster we could go WR in the first 3 rounds and all 3 guys may end up starting. WR's (usually) take a terror two to really develop, it would be nice to have them ready for whoever we draft #1 overall next year.

My best guess is Devonte Smith becomes the newest Detroit Lion on Thursday night. Who you guys got? Who do you guys want?

Pitts or Chase if they fall are the dream. Outside of that I would want a trade back.

If those 2 are gone and no trade back I am good with either tackle being picked.

In order I would rank

Pitts, Chase, Slater, Smith, Waddle, Sewell

also would note that I'd love for Denver to move up from No. 9 to No. 7 and the Lions also receiving Denver's No. 71 (even if we had to give back our No. 112 to Denver - trying not to be greedy)

also would note that Detroit sports media stating OC Lynn likes to run a wide zone concept OL scheme and that should heavily favor Slater over Sewell as the former has better technique, quicker feet, quicker but less powerful punch, better hand placement and more athleticism to get to 2nd level or out wide on pull blocks (opposite side)

N'Western HC, Fitzgerald, runs a more Pro-Style OL scheme where as Oregon is not so much and that alone should favor Slater. The two areas Sewell has the advantage are weight and punch power.

I agree with all this though I guess my order would be Sewell, Chase, Waddle, Pitts, Slater. I'd prefer not trading down past 10 or 11. I'd be ok with Lance or Fields too I suppose.

I would not touch Smith with a 10 ft pole. He will no make it in the nfl. Too small. I would jump all over Chase or Waddle tho.

I am in favor of them dropping back 4-8 picks and picking up more picks.

GM Holmes needs to come away with four starters (at worst by beginning of 2022 season but at a minimum of two for 2021) and two rotational depth players out of his currently available six picks in this draft. Anything less should not be acceptable.

He needs to nail these next two drafts in order to kickstart this rebuild.
