From what I remember I heard on the radio here that you can use one amnest buyout per CBA. So, you're waiting until the new CBA before Wideman is gone.

Which I dont like, you should just have to wait until Martin's contract is done

That just tells me that the year before a CBA expires GMs with big pockets can sign some guy to a HUGE contract, and if it doesn't work out, buy them out right before the CBA expires.
