SO probably a good chance this comes in the new CBA. If it does who on your team gets the cut.

I say on the Flyers its gotta be Bryz and then we go for Bobby Lou

That would be so stupid, if they bargain that in.

it will be a 1 time thing that can be used in the next 2 offseason.

Each team gets 1 time to use the clause.

Why? It's a one time get out a jail free card and it gives a struggling team that may have just had a regime change a much easier chance to rebuild than have a crippling buyout on the roster or stuck in the AHL.

I know, it promotes reckless spending, but that is going to happen anyways.

It rewards past reckless spending.

I should say that it excuses it.

Does the player still get his money? That is the only way I see the NHLPA passing it.

Yeah, the player would still get his money (no way the NHLPA will give up guaranteed contracts).

How do you even regulate this? Say the Pens use theirs on Paul Martin...cool, he's gone, cost is off the salary cap, but then they sign Dennis Wideman to a deal worth $7million a year for 5 years, and he ends up sucking after a season and a half. When can they use it again?

Before this year finished, I would have said Kovy. But he is clearly a completely different player from last season. If I'm not mistaken, the Devils have Zidlicki for another year and he has looked like shit. Him or Zubrus.

From what I remember I heard on the radio here that you can use one amnest buyout per CBA. So, you're waiting until the new CBA before Wideman is gone.

Which I dont like, you should just have to wait until Martin's contract is done
