I think it was a good and fair interview on both parts. Rumor was that Gruden wanted Smith. Knowing they were not going to sign or Cousin's wasn't going to sign whichever view point you have I think they made the best move without trying to draft a starting QB.
I have thought Dunbar was going to play a bigger part this year when they resigned him. It will be interesting to see how big a part.
I am a fan, I am going to hope for the best just like I do every year.
Fair enough, but I can also see a scenario where Jay, after his very public proclamation that he didn't want another year of Kirk tagged, goes to the front office guys and say, "OK, Kirk is not worth what he's going to command on an open market, or you guys are willing to pay for him, of all the guys who we can get, this guy is my choice. "
That conversation might have happened. I think we were all tired of the 1 year tags. I was tired of rehashing the story over and over. I was tired that the team wouldn't commit to a guy that did more than his fair share. As it says in the good book "it is done." On to the next guy.
The question in my mind now is are with Eagles who acquired Norm Snead or the Redskins who acquired Sonny Jurgensen. There is only one way to find out .... play the games.
