Finally got to see the skills competition on NHL Network. I am glad that the All Star weekend here in Columbus back when was relatively normal. I couldn't imagine what "wacky" outdoor event we would have. I mean for one, being outside in February has a good chance of your nose falling off from frostbite. But what would they do? Need to shoot at styrofoam cows to tip them over and then shoot a corn cob into brutus buckeye's mouth? That surfboards and dunk tank thing was.. WHY THE FUCK WAS SHESTY SHOOTING? Also golfpuck just straight up sucked

PK is better when you just wind him up and let him go. Stop giving him lines. He isn't good. Speaking of not good - Pat Maroon. Oof.

Who the fuck were those judges on the breakouot skits? Even Kaplan was like "What the fuck are you saying?"

Loved the 15 second delay with that new puck in hardest shot. So much better than the instant payoff of the radar guns of old. Petey always strikes me as a bean pole and the fact he can hammer the biscuit like that impresses me to no end.

The head to head final for accuracy shooting made it harder to see what was happening because the camera had to sit too far back to get both. You couldn't see the ones that skimmed the targets. Also, loved McDavid beating himself by double clutching before the last shot. <ha ha.jpg>

Best part for me was the kids skating around the far end of the ice, completely ignoring whatever events were going on.

Finally I got to watch some real hockey again tonight. It won't happen in my lifetime, but it would be nice to just have an all star hockey game, minus the BS.
