He has a 2.5 million signing bonus and a $250,000 dollar workout bonus that's going to be due. He also will be able to collect his entire salary ($18.750 million) if he retires after rosters are set. They would be able to recoup some of that money back if he retires now, but why would he when showing up, even if he's put on the PUP list pays him all monies due in 2021 and 2022.

I personally believe that he is already in full retirement mode but that doesn't mean that he won't show up for the next two years! Being placed on the PUP list, still pays him 24.4 million in 2021 and another 26.4 million in 2022. Don't quote me on the following, but I believe that his salary became fully guaranteed because of injury. (I'll have to check on that)

Maybe will be announced on 16 minutes on Sunday:

I know some Jaguar fans who feel he will come and be their quarterback coach under Meyer or their backup quarterback. But I don’t feel Jacksonville would trade anything for Smith and pay him to be a backup and they wouldn’t be patient enough with him as starter while Lawrence learned the pros.

I mean, if Smith wanted to be a coach he would likely go to the Niners, Chiefs, Washington, or let Washington cut him and get paid something and then go to Jaguars. He has said his family wants to retire in the bay area and so I don’t think that his family would be very willing to go for anything but playing in Florida. They basically stuck with him in Washington for his dream to show that he could play. I don’t think they would want to also do it for quarterback coaching in a new city.

The Heineke vs Haskins vs Allen vs Alex Smith comparisons dont bode well for Haskins, Sty.

Unless, of course, he matures an awful lot over the next few seasons.

There’s precedent for that, of course: Rich Gannon, Tannenhill, Josh Allen, Goff, etc., but it all depends on Haskins.

As it stands right now for Haskins:
The college student taking advanced math classes made significantly better decisions than Haskins did,

The grizzled vet who has been in the same system for as long as haskins had, and had literally one good leg managed to go 5-1 in the same system Haskins failed at,

And the career backup made better reads while he played then Haskins did, and had a slightly better qb rating.

First round draft pick qb’s need to come in and light it up, or at least show some “it factor,” in their first year. Heinecke showed it in 67 minutes of game film. Haskins hasnt showed it in 2 years.

He's going to land somewhere and despite it all, I still have confidence that this young man will be a great NFL QB.
Great? I think he could be an average to good QB but great is a reach IMO.

I expect DH to fail because that is what he has shown to this point. I hope he fails because he is no longer a Redskin.

I don’t hate DH. As a matter of fact, I was his most ardent supporter, other than Sty.

At this point in his career, he has only proven to be bad with a questionable work ethic.

He has done nothing for me to wish him success after leaving here.

The overwhelming majority of NFL players aren't Redskins either. You want to see them all fail? That's some next level hatin right there, G.

Yes I do. The only players I ever cheered for are Peyton, Kirk, JJ, and now Mahomes.

Nobody asked me, but the only player these days that I have universal hate for is...... Tom Brady. Fuck that smug bastard.

Yes, he’s the GOAT. Still hate that jerk.

I actively like:

Andy Reid (not a player, but the best, goofiest-bastard coach in the nfl)
Aaron Rodgers
Pat Mahommes
Jon Gruden
Tony Romo calling games
Chris Collingsworth calling games
The 300 lb fullback on the Ravens
All the little dudes who are lightning quick: Tarik Cohen, Chris Thompson, Kamara, etc.

That’s all I can think of right now.
