Well. Can't say I'm surprised. Bruce Allen is the only guy that can fuck up a fucked up situation worse. This is a terrible move. Don't get me wrong. Smith is a adequate QB. And if he were a FA I'd say sign him. but to give up a high draft pick and a player (hmmm, wonder who Kansas City wants) is crazy for a 34 year old QB. All to save a few bucks. Oh, BTW, so now we have to draft a QB since apparently our new starting QB is almost a senior citizen. So we will be moving up in the draft. I bet they see gold in Baker Mayfield (AKA Heath Schuler II).

If this is true, all I can surmise is that Cousins has told the Redskins that there is no way he is coming back to this team. That is the only logic for such a move. But this move now makes it clear Cousins is gone and we will get nothing for him. Brilliant.

Dude, you cant put lipstick on this one. The only positive on this is we know the Cousins drama is over. I have to agree with @ehb5 that this move does not make us better. Reid rarely gives up on a QB if he still has something left to give the team.

I will place captain optimism when the team gives me something to be optimistic about.

I will say this.. the only positive I see in this is that we MIGHT not draft Lamar Jackson now.... but honestly I think Bruce has one or two more brilliant moves in him this year as he is just getting warmed up.

The optimistic look at this trade is basically...well we might not be worse next year. That pretty much sums it up IMO.
