So although he is cheaper, Alex Smith is 3 years older, and has the same stats with a much better, healthier supporting cast than Cousins got last year - AND we gave him a 4 year extension?!?!?!

So we are NOT planning on drafting a qb this year then? In the mother of all qb draft classes?

4 years older. Smith will turn 34 in may... Kirk is going to be 30 when the season starts.

So we saved $4M per year... but the real "Savings" was saving face in saying... we don't NEED Kirk Cousins.
