First, I want to give the guy a ton of credit for working his way back. But seriously man, retire and enjoy your life
if he continues to try to come back he gets his pay though this year . plus he wants to "leave " it on his terms . no sense regretting a choice . play it out as far as you canFirst, I want to give the guy a ton of credit for working his way back. But seriously man, retire and enjoy your life
we dont really know what alex wants . he may want more from his career or loves footballIf and when Smith comes off the PUP list, I see him taking a snap and handing off once to end his career after this season. No reason for the team or himself to ever put him in harms way again.
i wasnt a fan of the "trade " for alex smith . i thought we gave up too much and he is a check down no risk guy .Amazing story. Good guy to root for.
Best backup the league - Alex Smith
Worst starter in the league - Dwayne Haskins
This should be fun.
Chicago aside...
Not sure I could take seeing him getting injured again - and I can't imagine what that would do to his family. Remember, at his age - he was going to lose some quickness anyway - and he's a QB who has relied on his quickness. He'll no longer be able to escape huge fast players that he used to escape from routinely. That injury was too gruesome and his age works against him. He's lucky his leg wasn't amputated.
The players that will be hitting him are younger, stronger and heavier.
I applaud and respect the determination, but he needs to retire. If he wants to be near the game, he could be a QB coach.
If this is true he will know it right away . Then he willNot sure I could take seeing him getting injured again - and I can't imagine what that would do to his family.
