Hey, just posted this a bit ago on the main board.

Apparently he was stabbed at a party where police were called. Two others at the party were shot. All are non-life threatening injuries. Smith is recovering comfortably.

Reports are surfacing he was breaking up the fight, not in it. I guess that's a tad more positive. However, you can't be putting yourself in that kind of situation, especially when you depend on your body to make a living. In a chaotic situation you can wind up with a serious injury....losing an eye for example. I hope this scares some sense into him.

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith suffered stab wounds at a party early Saturday morning, according to the Associated Press. Per the San Jose Mercury News, 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said in a statement that Smith "incurred minor injuries during an incident last night" and that "we are in contact with Aldon, and thankful that his injuries were not more serious and that he is recovering comfortably."

Multiple sources told CSNBayArea.com's Matt Maiocco that Smith sustained minor stab wounds, most likely from a small pocketknife, while he attempted to break up a fight. The location of the wounds are believed to be in his shoulder and abdomen. Smith, who is expected to start for the Niners this season, was arrested earlier this year on a DUI charge.

ESPN NFC West blogger Mike Sando thinks that regardless of the circumstances surrounding Saturday's incident, where two people were shot, Smith should take a close look at what he decides to do off the field:
