Statistically, we do. Our opponents gets flagged more rarely than most, which is complete bullshit given the DL and LBs we field. That said, I don’t care as long as we win. The refs can still go to hell. Especially Hubert Owens and that abortion of a crew from last night. Thank God we won’t have ACC refs in the title game. They’re almost as bad as P12.

Other than most years Alabama opponents have been dead last in the number of penalties called against them....sure.

This year we are up in the 40's, so that was a nice improvement over 124th and dead last the previous years.

Clemson ran 99 plays against what may be considered the best defense in the history of college football in 2016 and somehow never once did they ever hold that group. Which wasn't a big shocker really, after they went the entire season with only like 1 holding call called against them all year or something crazy like that.

Yeah, there are missed and bad calls on both sides in games, no doubt. But the stats over the past few years have shown a trend towards penalties not being called against Alabama opponents. And a few teams this year, including Oklahoma last night, have abused that considerable.

Go back and watch the LSU game for example. You'll never see more holding on both sides of the ball in a football game from a team ever. They straight up dared the refs to throw the flag and they didn't most of the time.

they only get worse in total defensive rankings for Clemson ... Top notch to me is top 20 in defense. Bama played and beat 2 in top 15 ..
