meh...get the best recruits in the hotbed of recruiting and you should own the sport...that stated, everyone starts off 0-0.

College football is always about recruiting. The top teams attract the most top level talent. It's going to forever be a lopsided sport.

This is why it's stupid to talk about 8, 12, 16, etc team tournaments as having any real meaning. There isn't going to ever be a time when 2-3 teams aren't miles ahead of everyone else.

Give Kirby another 2 years and his blue chip ratio will rival Saban's. I'm really jealous of what Pittman is doing for you guys at OL recruiting.

Next year should be Kirby's best team at UGA, and we'll be nearing 80% of the scholarship roster being blue chips after this recruiting class.

Pittman was by far Kirby's best hire when he got this job.

I don't think we're too far behind. Bama doesn't take us lightly anyways.
Not far behind. We will see how Kirby does replacing his DC and if he can maintain turnover. Hell of a recruiter though

Only downside is that next year will probably be Saban's best team at Bama considering all that's returning + all that's coming in.

We're not losing much this season. Deandre Baker will be the hardest to replace, but we have a couple 5 star underclassmen corners waiting.

From what I'm hearing, Glenn Schumann is likely to be promoted from within for the DC job. Don't know how he's gonna scheme, but he's the second best recruiter of any of the assistants(second only to Sam Pittman).

If Kirby implements the system the way Saban has it shouldn't really matter who the DC is but we will see. Kirby has a lot to learn about on field coaching, but that comes with experience

Saban can't run the program forever. Or can he?

Remember the good ol' days when trendy uniforms was all a school needed to out-recruit their rival?

Dynasties only last as long as the coach sticks around and stays relevant.

My father remembers a time when his Gophers OWNED college football, and Pittsburgh was one of their biggest rivals.

It took a world war to bring an end to their Dynasty.

Every once in a while a blue blood is able to bring in another hall of fame bound coach to follow up, but it's rare. Minnesota blew it when they didn't keep either Bud Wilkinson or Biggie Munn around to take over for Bierman.

Instead, Oklahoma and Michigan St OWNED cfb for an entire decade.

Then Nebraska and Miami and Florida St came along.

Bama and Notre Dame consistently made their presence known as did Ohio St and Michigan and PSU.

I'm probably forgetting someone, but the CFB Hall of Fame didn't induct "A Dozen Dynasties" into the Hall of Fame because the same TWO teams will always win.

Where was Clemson before Dabo came along? They are not even considered a blue blood? And if he goes to the NFL, Clemson could easily falter and fall down the rankings. Before Urban can along, even my Gophers didn't tremble going up against OSU.

I'm hoping PJFleck does for Minnesota what he did for WMU. I'm hoping he does for Minny what Dabo did for Clemson and that he does for Minny what Saban did for Bama. I still remember beating Bama in the Music City Bowl in 04. Just wondering if next year will be too early for him to deliver a 12-0 regular season record?

And in my opinion, things won't change until you expand the playoffs and allow teams like UCF a shot. Before UCF there was WMU, Houston, Cincy and Miami of Ohio, most got owned, but so far UCF hasn't. Players want to compete for Championships, so until teams like UCF can sell to recruits that they can get to the CFP, the majority of the very best recruits will all choose to go to places like Bama and Clemson and Ohio St and Oklahoma.

He does? Jerry loves him some Jason and they win the division this year.
