For the record I heard on Mike&Mike today that back in July against Toronto, Buck brought Britton in the 9th for 2 innings in a tied game. But in the biggest game of the year with your season on the line, you go 11 innings and don't use him lol.

on the contrary, Keith Foulke pitched three consecutive days in the 2004 ALCS. He came in twice when the Sox were losing and threw 4 innings in those two games (games 4 and 5). He threw 100 pitches in that three day span. In Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS, Rivera came into a tied game and pitched three innings.

I am a HUGE Keith Foulke fan. I don't think he gets nearly the credit he deserves from Red Sox fans. That 2004 championship not only wouldn't have been possible without his herculean effort in the ALCS, he sacrificed his career to do it, and from what I understand, he knew he was.

Then they pull that "Johnny from Burger King" shit on him. Fuck Boston's media, the Red Sox front office and fuck their fans.

Bucko is nothing if not utterly inconsistent.

In that situation you have to pull the trigger, regardless if someone is warmed or not imo. Granted hingsight but still.

Two things.
1. Britton warmed up three times last night.
2. Hindsight is great. Here are quotes from you that explains the situation and possibly why the trigger was never pulled.

why use my closer if the game is tied or goes extra.. save him as a last result or until we get a save situation. Not to mention not many teams have someone AFTER their closer to pitch...

Managers don't bring in their closers on the road unless it is 100% necessary (aka no other option) OR if they have a lead. baseball has pretty much always been like that.

Elimination game, tied up, bottom of the 11th, runner on third, awesome hitter at the plate.

I'd take the ball from Ubaldo Jiminez and give it to the reliever who's being considered for the Cy Young Award. That's just me, though.

Agreed. And, I don't think it's just something to do during elimination games. I think you should do it during the year as well.

Doesn't shock me. Blue Jays fans are awful. Expect more beers to be thrown in the series vs Texas.

They sure are giving Yankees fans a running as worst fans in baseball. What was up with that asshole dancing behind home plate? Sit your fucking ass down and watch the game.

I don't think Yankees fans are the worst in baseball. You have to put Red Sox and White Sox fans into that discussion.
