15 years is a nonstarter and is absurd. But Vlad should be fine to play 1B for a long time. His defense is passable over there(and definitely better than Casas), but the Sox aren’t going to pay up for him anyway. I’m not sure how many teams would be willing to do anything close to $500m for him.

-Giolito hasn’t pitched yet.
-Wilyer Abreu hasn’t appeared in a game yet.
-Casas(always a question mark) hasn’t been seen in a while.
-Yoshida won’t be ready for the start of the season.
-Kutter Crawford hasn’t even ramped up yet.

Lots of holes in that roster at the moment.
