Agreed. If Stanton & Judge can stay on the field, they are too good historically to produce such limited results. Same with Torres(unless he’s suddenly lost it). DJ has been great since they signed him. There ARE some question marks in there(Sanchez, Hicks, Frazier), but I think they will hit just fine. Getting Voit back should help, too. He’s supposed to be a few weeks away.

They showed a stat during the game last night that the Yanks 3-6 spots in the line-up are dead last in MLB in BA and OPS.

Pretty confident that's not gonna hold.

Time will

we will see

Martin Perez is the 4th starter only because Garrett Richards and Nick Pivetta were inserted ahead of him, which will eventually feel like you have 3 Martin Perez’

talk to me in a month about Matt Barnes
You are forgetting Eovaldi who has been absolutely filthy, so far. I don’t necessarily expect that to continue, but he’s the #2. And I’m not exactly sure what to say about Pivetta except that he’s pitched REALLY well since he came over. Maybe he’s a change-of-scenery guy that landed in the right spot? But I wouldn’t just write him off because he was lousy in Philly.

Stanton swings a bat like he doesn’t know how to play baseball

how that guy won an MVP is beyond me
He’s a strange case. It seems like he’s aged 20 years in NY. Probably not a good fit for the Bronx. He was a pretty athletic guy in MIA. He even used to be able to run a little. It’s not like he’s that old now, either. He was otherworldly in 2017 when he won that MVP. Jeter sold at the very top on him.

Yeah. I think that lineup is going to produce just fine. Voit was one of their best players last year and he hasn’t even played yet.

I think there's a pretty good chance they at least finish in the top 3 in the AL (if not MLB) in runs scored. I think they've got a solid shot at leading the league in runs, though it might depend on how much Judge/Stanton play.

Yankees will be fine.

Lineup will be fine. Bullpen is solid. Starting pitching could be their undoing.

I have a feeling Richards won't last for long but I have some hope for Rodriguez/Eovaldi/Pivetta/Perez. Sale should hopefully be back mid-summer though I don't expect too much out of him. Houck will likely be back in the rotation. Perez is fine as a #4/5 starter but I could see him getting bumped out, especially if Houck is able to use his splitter reliably. I think Pivetta could be a solid backend starter but he needs to work on his command. Seabold could also see a promotion and Whitlock could also see some starts.

I don't think it's a good rotation but at least there feels like there's some actual depth and upside. Even if they're merely league average that would be a huge improvement over what they were getting in 2020. Let's not forget they were giving starts to the likes of Chris Mazza, Zack Godley (and to think I liked that signing lol), Colten Brewer, Mike Kickham and Kyle Hart.

I just hope that the rotation can hold serve at least until Sale gets back. Even if they can get 2019 Chris Sale rather than pre-2019 Sale that's still a useful arm.

my biggest concern for the rotation is that their starters beyond Cole might not pitch very deeply (even by today's standards). There's durability concerns too but I don't think that's too much of a problem if you have a lot of arms, which the Yankees do have.

Hicks where he should have been from the start. But they keep messing wth Frazier. He's not going to get going unless he's playing.,

Agree, we get two outs in the first to make something happen......

Turns out, even weak hitting backup catchers can hit that shit 400 feet

Kirk's one of the best catching prospects in the game. And he slugged .500 in the minors.

even the best hitters are going to have 0-13 stretches. Kirk's a 22-year-old that never played above A+ ball until his brief major league stint last year. It isn't that unusual that he's having a rough stretch.

that's not to say that Kluber has nothing to be worried about, he's looked like shit.
