Donaldson, Arenado and Machado are all amazing players. All time 3B has been a position that hasn't been particularly one of stars but those 3 are changing that.

Some of these guys are going to join the ranks of Mathews, Boggs, Schmidt, Brett, and Jones. Beltre is probalby the next out of those 5 already.

Beltre ranks 7th all-time among 3B* in WAR at 77.0 (in 10895 PA) per Fangraphs. Brooks is 6th at 80.2 (11782 PA). Chipper and Brett are also within reach for Beltre at 84.6 WAR. Whether you like WAR or not, there's pretty much universal agreement about Beltre's defensive prowess. And a 114 wRC+ is still very good for a 3B, especially for one with over 10000 PA.

*not counting A-Rod who's listed first, but that includes his time at shortstop. He has 51.5 WAR since the beginning of 2004.

Ugly series for the Sox bullpen. Really missing Carson Smith right now. Farrell needs to stop letting Layne face righties.

About 3rd base I'm sorry for this but I was going to do this workup for all the top ones, Brett is an obsession

I clearly have too much time on my hands but I got prototypes for all of them and it seems to me, while Schmidt is the clear best all time, its a 4 way tie for second best for Brett, Boggs, Mathews and Chipper. It just depends on which aspects you value the most.

Report: Red Sox interested in Teheran, Vizcaino

ehh, no thanks. Teheran's outperforming his peripherals big time and he's pretty HR prone. He'd still provide some stability to the rotation and he is under control, but I don't see him being worth the price the Braves will be asking for.

Enjoy all these late game wins by the Baltimore Offense

But, it is tiresome falling down 3-0, 4-1, 5-2 and having to keep putting up 7 runs in the late innings

I want to see faster starts by Baltimore as the offense cannot always mash every game

who cares as long as they're scoring runs? You should be more worried about the Orioles starting pitching.

The pitches to Dozier and especially Plouffe were just awful. Two streaky mistake hitters and he just floated em over.

Decent pitching match today, Stronan for Toronto and Sale for the White Sox. No score in the 3rd but Chicago has runners on the corners and 1 out.

I just hope the orioles can limp around .500 on the road on this upcoming long road trip

I will be happy if they can go 4-5

They are an unbeatable juggernaut in Camden Yards, but they inexplicably go quiet on the road
