...the Royals have to keep crappy players around because we can't afford to replace them, (see Davies, Hochaver, Frenchy, Getz Just don't get why the Tigers hang on to some very crappy players and not even expensive ones (other than Inge) other that the Leland Loyality factor.

Coke should have, at the very least, been in the same car as Leland.

Well, this will be my first rant at Ausmus ... you had the ENTIRE bullpen available after an off day. Why Coke? WHY????

Meanwhile, Red Wings 1 point from locking up their 23rd consecutive playoff berth. The fact that the Wings have a chance to do this with the bazillion player games lost to injury this year and the rag-tag lines thrown out there is amazing ... I have renewed respect for Babcock.

Cokes not cheap....hes around 2 mil a year....if he wouldve been cut before opening day, we wouldve saved alot of money....guys in the minors can do what he does for the league minimum...fans been trying to tell management to just release this bum for 2 yrs now..

You can certainly argue small sample size, but the first 6 games have done nothing to refute what most of us have said about the Tigers: greatest strength is the starting rotation, greatest weakness is the bullpen.

Starters: 9 ER in 39.2 innings (2.04 ERA)

Bullpen: 10 ER in 15.2 innings (5.74 ERA)

And among the bullpen figures are 3 shutout innings from Drew Smyly, who is actually the team's #5 starter but hasn't been needed to make a start yet. Without Smyly, the ERA for the full-time bullpen members is over 7.00.

There is no team in the league I have hated more than the Wings, I expect that to fade because they moved to the weaker conference but 23 years is freakin' impressive. Congrats to the Wings and their fans.
