The Aggies, too, are set to start playing new SEC rival LSU on Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving weekend starting next year.

Not sure who is laughing. You have to be careful about stealing women. It is fun in the beginning. Then they can turn into your wife. Then you get to see the crazy and bitchy side 90% of the time.

What a bunch of wimps. I wish Oklahoma could find a way to play Nebraska every year now. Hell, we did it with Texas OOC before the Big 12...nothing like bringing back a great rivalry.

I think A&M should probably be actually asked, or have formal conversations before anyone jumps to conclusions or says anyone is flatly rejecting anything.

Well they do have it tough now week in week out vs the likes of TN Vandy Kentucky Ole Miss Mississippi State and 4 directional schools.

The Poor Aggie progression:

Anywhere, Anytime, Anyplace
Somewhere, Sometime, Someplace
Nowhere, No time, No place

That school is literally always a jumble of conflictions.

I long since gave up trying to understand them.
Nobody is like Poor Aggie.

They march to a drum beat that no other school hears.
I guess it works for them, but it is beyond strange and borderline crazy at times.

But there is never a dull moment in the world of Aggie.

No thanks: Aggies say facing Longhorns in regular season no longer an option - Aggies

I always said it was bluster and neither side really wanted a game.
Pure posturing they want it right now because they feel like they have the upper hand in recruiting. Which BTW is exactly why Texas wants it plus they need more marquee games on their schedule when Ole Miss is biggest home game you have of the season something has to be done....especially when you lose by 21.

You are never going to get that this game doesn't affect recruiting ONE IOTA

There is simply too much talent in state for that to ever be a realistic issue

The above should have read "don't want it right now" in regards to Texas A&M.

Dude almost every team in the country hinges on one or two scary good recruits to be successful.

It could be a QB, Defensive lineman, offensive tackle, running back, receiver or even a secondary player.

Bottom line how many times have you watched another team and said "I wish we had that kid a QB" because you know you would be a different team.

So don't give me this "doesn't affect recruiting" because it damn sure does and if you are so arrogant you can't see it then I can't help you.

This game is for bragging rights only......it may shift one or two recruits a year but not much more than that.

This game is meaningful for the citizens of the state of Texas.......that's really the only reason it should be continued. I just don't think the leadership is in place at both universities to make it happen right now.

Once Johnny Football graduates, they will be back to ordinary. I'm sure they don't want to play Texas then.

It's not arrogance, it's SHEER NUMBERS

There are over 1600 HS in the state producing talent!

I don't know what else to tell you. Here's an example - in 2012, Texas got the top RB in the state, Johnathon Gray, who was breaking national rushing records. The #2 RB in the state, Trey Williams, choose A&M, and trust me......he's NO slouch. BOTH kids are legit. One school wasn't going to get both. Sooner or later you'll figure it out.......talent is not an issue, coaching is. There's WAAAY too much talent in state for this to matter much at all.

I would ask that Alabama not play in the Jerry dome anymore either, that might start pulling recruits from Texas too. not that it already hasnt happened.
