Interesting fact from Bill Simmons....

""BS: True fact: The AFC North is 11-2-1 against the NFC South, 7-1 against the Jags/Titans/Raiders, 8-8 against each other … and 3-7 against everyone else. Of that “everyone else,” six were potential playoff teams.

Week 5: New England 43, Cincinnati 17

Week 5: Indianapolis 20, Baltimore 13

Week 7: Indianapolis 27, Cincinnati 0

Week 8: Pittsburgh 51, Indianapolis 34

Week 13: San Diego 34, Baltimore 33

Week 13: Buffalo 26, Cleveland 10

Translation: Start getting excited to wager against the AFC North champ in Round 1. Seriously. Start tucking money away.""

I suppose we can all now stop thinking that this is a good division..... Maybe it's a good thing that our final three games are against division opponents.

championship teams come from this division all the time. It's just that this year, the Ravens and Steelers have finally played down to our level and the Browns are sucking a little less and have achieved a smidge above the average.

I never thought the division was any good. According to my power ratings our division ranks tied for 8th(
Balt) tied for 13th(us) 18th (Pitt) and 23rd(Browns). We're just a mediocre competitive division who benefitted from playing the worst divisions in both the NFC and the AFC. And assuming the Bengals hold on and win the division who better to bet against come playoff time?

The Ravens and Steelers have been down to our level for three years now. The Ravens championship three years ago was simply a matter of getting hot at the right time. They weren't that good. We, however, would be good if we had a quarterback.........

Sad story.

All the while 8-3-1 gives Brownie boy an excuse to not make any changes.
