Please tell me how Dallas can pay his contract? Also since the Vikes already said they wanted Oakland #1 and a starting CB, what will they want from Dallas?

Too damn much if you ask me.

They could take the money out of the banana stand

I dont know, guess I'd like to see it happen, maybe others do as well

If the price was right I think most would be tickled pink with AP in Dallas. I just don't see how the team can pay him and I don't want to see two high picks traded away for him. He's 30 and that is OLD for a NFL RB.

absolutely. When the bottom drops out on RBs, it a precipitous fall

We all know AP is not going any where. At least we should.

Peterson turned 30 in March and is currently the highest paid running back in the league.

You want to make him a deal?, take a look at the rate of return on your investment. If it looks good then sell your Apple stock and buy Blackberry.

i

"The red line represents all running backs who have played at least four NFL seasons since 2001, with a minimum average of 75 carries per season. Overall, we see their careers peak at age 27. Afterward, their rushing totals drop by 15 percent in one year, 25 percent in two and almost 40 by the time they are 30."

And don't forget, what if Hardy's suspension gets reduced by a lot? That immediately increases Dallas' cap hit for his contract above the current $3.5 or so million it sits at now for 2015.

Exactly! People are overlooking this fact. The remaining cap money that Dallas has needs to remain in limbo until the length of Hardy's suspension is determined. Dallas does not have enough money right now for AP, and will not have near enough money for AP once the dust settles with Hardy. Dallas would only be able to afford AP if a long term contract gets worked out with Dez and Carr accepts a pay cut. Even if Dallas could afford it, it wouldn't be worth it.

It would take a trade similar to the Roy Williams deal to pry AP away from Minnesota. And then Dallas still has to give him a huge new contract with guaranteed money. SO not worth it for a 30 yr old RB!

Peterson has reached an age where most RB's show a decline in production but Peterson is a freak of nature and may be productive for a few more seasons.

Do you want to wager a 1st & 3rd round pick and $25+ million in guaranteed money on that statement? I wouldn't...

Of course I wouldn't guarantee he will remain productive but it wouldn't surprise me if he was.
