This is a short-term, low-floor, treading water for a year move, with a possible high ceiling. There wasn't another fix in sight. If you want to move up for a QB you do it next year, when there's a deeper QB crop.

I'm no Rodgers fan, but I get it.

Rodgers won't help the Steelers much, he's just another old washed up QB playing for other teams after his hey day.

Essentially looking at a 1yr, $23m contract, with incentives to grow upwards of $30m.

Not bad deal at all. SO thankful this isn't a $40+m deal.

So I'm an Aaron Rodgers fan. Always have been. And I don't think he's washed. I actually think he will be the best QB we've had since Ben in his prime. I just don't think it will be enough to overcome Tomlin. Not at this stage of his career. Probably means playoffs and maybe even a playoff win. But that's about it. Oh. And a worse draft position.
