Was listening on the radio about Brady to the 49ers. It was pointed out that the revenue that came with signing Brady would/could be big. Sold out stadium, merchandise sales would sky rocket. Money wise could be a bonanza for the owner. Course they only do this if they have doubts about Jimmy G. as a franchise QB.
In theory it could be viewed like the Broncos singing Manning who had missed a season due to a neck surgery and was not young either. Big risk, but Manning brought a lot to the Broncos and Brady could do the same perhaps.

I agree but are you telling me they aren't going to have a sold out stadium anyway? If they can't sell out the year after going to the super bowl they should move the franchise to Reno

I'm sure they would do fine, still a lot of ways to cash in on a signing like Brady.

I'd love for that to happen... Then SF won't be as good next year...

So the Niners are gonna give up on a guy who had his first full year starting, coming off a torn ACL, was a top 10 QB...and helped lead a team to the SB? A guy who is almost sure to improve with more reps? For a soon-to-be 43 year old, lesser QB? Because nostalgia or some shit?

A 33-year old WR that is injury prone and limited is not worth a starting QB in trade value. Maybe if the Pats sent Edelman and their 1st round pick then I could see it happening.

Edelman is a warrior. Over the past three seasons he only missed four games due to suspension. Averaging just shy of 100 catches, 11.3 yds per and something like 6TDs IIRC? I'd take him on my team.

Has the rest of the NFL learned never to trade with New England because they're usually fleecing the other team?

Hear me out:

Brady goes to SF. As part of that signing, SF sends jimmy garoppolo to NE for Julien Edleman and the rights to Rob Gronkowski. I'ts on SF and Brady to pry Gronk out of retirement, to create the greatest TE combo in NFL history.
I think Gronk would bite at that. Fewer snaps for him, Kittle being 1A in the pecking order.
Team has a 2-3 year window with Brady, Edelman, gronk, and kittle....with that defense.

Brady goes home
Edelman goes home
Jimmy comes home

Win, win.

I don't care about the pulling it out of your ass part...

How the fuck did you grease your back passage up enough to force that steaming pile of bullshit up there?

I didn’t say he didn’t have talent. I said he isn’t worth trading straight up for a starting caliber QB.

No but you said he was injury prone and limited. My statement refutes that by the numbers he continues to put up.

He's a cross between the energizer rabbit and a Timex watch.

I'll give you not many wide receivers would be worth trading for a starting caliber QB. Then again we really need to quantify starting caliber. The league is pretty weak in starting caliber QBs IMO. Today is Edelman worth a trade for Jimmy G? I say no but that's only because of JE 11's age and some potential I think JG hasn't shown yet? Having said that there are other starting QBs in the league I would do this deal for? Especially if this deal was required to make all the rest of it work?

Stranger things have happened and the 49ers brass haven't come out to shut down the rumor but it's not happening. BB wants Jimmy G back no doubt but it ain't happening

Buccaneers or Titans are getting Brady

It's already hard enough to get back to the Super Bowl, especially after losing. Factor in that you've traded away your future, still improving QB for Brady's retirement tour and that front office is setting themselves up for failure. If they don't make it back to the Super Bowl, jobs are on the line in that scenario. For Denver, they hadn't been to the Super Bowl since Elway and they had no real QB in place, so the stakes were nowhere near as high. Same reason why the Titans would have a hard time explaining away any failure to get the AFC championship game if they replace Tannehill with Brady.

Bucs or Chargers IMO, IF he leaves the Pats.

Well for the majority of his career he has been injury prone. So two years doesn't all of a sudden eliminate that issue especiallywhen one of those two seasons was with him being suspended limiting his chances of getting injured.

And again he is a good WR. I've never said otherwise. I do think his game is a bit limited and with Brady he has been able to take advantage of his best skill set.

The trade part is what just makes no sense in this. If a guy like Sam Bradford can fetch a 1st round pick then Jimmy G should fetch much more than that. Right now I would say Edelman is worth maybe a 3rd round pick. So for the trade to make sense the Pats would need to send Edelman and their 1st round pick at least for Jimmy G.
