Essentially when your teams' bonehead GM finally gets fired, said team gets a compensatory pick as part of the draft lottery.

I like that idea. We've fired a lot of GMs and the Sabres have done nothing if not hit on all of their draft picks for the last decade.

The automatic win would have to be applied at the beginning of a series, not halfway through. (ie: Phone call to Gary Bettman prior to the start of the series. "Yes, we're using it." or "No, we're saving it." Click.

I just always loved the addition of the "Click" immediately after the statement. Also, does Bettman even know the context here? Is there a special phone used for this situation? Is this the entire phone call? So many questions. So many answers that will never come.

Whatever it lacked in sound ideas, this post made up for in showmanship and hilarious responses.
