I know that it's extremely unlikely, but would Washington violate any part of the CBA in trading Alex Smith immediately after he's signed.

This was a very much laughed at topic of conversation at my barber shop on Wednesday. The justifications seemed to be, that there were several teams looking to trade for him before we got him and one of them would still be interested in getting him if offered because Washington wants to get one of the draftable kids. What do you guys think of this sad but interesting notion?

Does this sound like another typical "winning off the field" move?

No rules against it. But as mentioned it would look dumb as fuck considering what we gave up to get him. It would be a winning off the field move and we would still have to throw something else into the trade most likely.

No rules against trading Smith, but the Skins would most likely have to eat the majority of his 71M guaranteed money.
