Heck I wish we had the moose on this roster blocking for Murray.

hell not just blocking .... he was one hell of a pass outlet when he needed to be

Makes you realize how talented that team was way back then

Some folks complain about good ole day syndrome but if the salary cap had not come along who knows how many wins in the SB they might have had

I would give the edge to Witten, and it wouldn't even be close. Jay was a stud, no doubt about it. But before he came to Dallas, he was a pretty average player. Once he was surrounded by one of the most talented offenses in the history of the game, he took off. As great a player as Jay was, Emmitt was hands down the defense's number one concern, and Michael was without a doubt number two. Witten has been the number one target that other teams gameplan for his whole career, and he has still been able to dominate. Imagine Witten on the 90's Cowboys.

If Witten was on the 90s Cowboys he would not have the good numbers he has now. Jay had to compete with Emmitt, Irvin, and the moose for touches. Who has he really competed with on this team? Maybe Owens but not much more.

Witten is an unselfish player, so maybe less stats, but he is over/under covered in every game he plays. If he played on the 90's Cowboys and defenses tried to play him with one man, he would literally be open on every play

you must be a young kid ........

in the 90s defenders could still pretty much mug receivers ..... Meaning he wouldn't be open as much

so there you are wrong.

that pass Witten didnt catch Sunday .... that was a INT ... Jay makes that play ....

I also saw many games 3rd and whatever .... Jay covered.... Troy would put the ball 2 inches off the turf where no defender could catch it .... Jay would

I'm guessing you never actually watched Jay play ..... and just some youtube highlights

I'm 40, never missed a game. I liked Jay, but Jay isn't a Hall of Famer, even on an all time great team. Witten is, despite playing on mediocre teams. To a couple of your points

Defenders could push and grab back then, but there's a flip side to that coin, Witten could have pushed too. and since he would be bigger and stronger than any LB or DB trying to cover him, he would have a field day. Besides the fact he'd only have to beat one guy instead of two or three.

Are you really gonna use the pass that hit Witten's back shoulder as he was moving the opposite way against him? It was a bad throw. Maybe Jay catches it, but despite your crush on Jay, he actually dropped a few too lol. I've also seen Witten make some crazy catches, including that game.

And you made a great point for me. TROY threw it. One of the most accurate passers ever.

Youtube highlights? Try the one of Witten getting his helmet knocked off and running down the field laying guys out. Or playing through a broken jaw. On the 90's Cowboys, Witten would have been single covered and their great line wouldn't have needed him to stay in and block as much. Too me, theres no comparison

:wtf2: First off I know JG is going no where. Second I'm talking The Seattle DC as our head guy. Finally something wrong cause I have a difference of opinion with you excuse me for being a free thinker and choosing to have my own opinion. You asked me what I would like to see happen. I won't them all fired.

Something wrong with me cause I don't agree with the coaching situation of this team or Your Dez witch hunt. Get over your self.

Not me ....

I still think Jay was better than Witten. Doesnt have the stats or numbers ... But was the most clutch TE I ever saw
:agree:
Billy joe was also very clutch. Leading receiver in super bowl XII. I'm with you on Novacek.

The defense played better than some previous games. The egals still gashed the defense for several big plays. I would hope people on here were not satisfied. Great defenses stop offenses cold for more than a series or two. They do it for entire game. This scheme is about as close to gay as it gets

Witten has put up some amazing stats and will be in the hall of fame. I still would take novacek over witten if its a playoff game.

Garrett is going to do 1 of two things..... Go down doing the same shit ...... Or adjust and realize he needs help with the game management and play calling.

No something wrong because you know we are stuck with Garrett..... but come into a thread suggesting something that may or may not improve the current coaching staff with nothing but fire every .... which aint happening...

I asked for your opinion of something we could ACTUALLY DO to improve this coaching staff.... and you brought nothing other than linger on shit that cant or wont be done
Doesn't matter who you bring in. We need a major over haul from ownership, coaching and the defense. Unless Jerry goes, expect another 6 or 7 years of this.

Now you're talking. Moose would be a tremendous addition to this team. Murray averaged 5.2 this year, and it seemed to me our running game improved when we added a FB. No telling what he'd do running behind Moose

In the end, I would love to have them both. Talk about killing a defense.
