In past years, if the rotation wobbled for two weeks straight, I'd be almost certain we would be looking at a 4-10 type stretch. They went .500 during that stretch. Hopefully, Volquez, Duffy, and Ventura can at least go 6 IP, if not more, per start. Absolutely no excuse not to do so with this defense. I don't expect Ventura to have double his career HR/FB% for too much longer.

but this pen might be almost twice as good as last year, the mop up guys are better than most top 4's of any team. I am ok with some 5 inning starts, royals are much deeper than last season.

the defense is just destroying other teams, not even close, might be legit 6 out of 8 position players up for GG.

the offense, although hot, seems to be clicking together (except that infant guy, lol)...the team can't continue to collectively hit over .300, that would just be crazy.

I really liked the Gordon/Moose combo at the top of the order. I know it's just because Esky was out, but it seemed to work.

As a saber oriented kind of guy, I'd kind of like to see Yost juggle Gordon and Escobar at leadoff. Esky leadoff vs LHP's, Gordon vs RHP's. I think this lineup actually is pretty well constructed as of right now outside of leadoff. Still skeptical of Escobar's ability to get on base consistently vs right handers. Orlando's AB's look very ugly at times, I know his OPS+ would imply we aren't hurting from Rios, but I'd welcome Rios back in a heartbeat right now. Moustakas and Hosmer stepping up, for now, opens a ton of doors for this team. Including playoffs if they continue t hit well.

I don't think it's a big stretch to argue the Royals could very easily lead the league in batting average. Problem will be walks and consistent power, if anything.

Yeah, if the Tigers want to shift on a guy with 8/14/8 and another guy with most of his hits to left- then by all means, I support bunting.

but tigers help young out. after 3 straight walks.
JD swinging at first pitch in dirt. then swinging at 2 more in the dirt. same with next batter cepedes. swinging at pitchs in the dirt. never mind about the 3 straight hitters that walked before them.
terrible hitting. tigers should have at least 2 runs on the board
