what some of you don't realize...Verlander has 1 of the biggest EGOs in the game.
he loves being one of the best pitchers. he wants to be back on top so bad.

ST games don't mean much. Pitchers are working on so many things. If you put value in a spring ERA, I'd point out that Verlander's ERA last spring was about 1.00. We all know what kind of a 2014 season he had. The main thing is does he come out of spring 100% healthy.

any one close was Darvish..he has a sore arm now.
even when Verlander had major core surgery..he wasn't ready to pitch..BUT he did!!! still won just a few shirt of 20.
NOW that he is in much better shape...you think he wont be the stud he was. ???? only that lefty out in LA will be better this year.

First of all, fifteen is not "just a few short" of 20 wins. However, it is still impressive that he won 15 games. Of course, his wins had much more to do with the Tigers' offense and the 5.29 average runs of support they gave him than the steaming piles of shit he laid on the pitching rubber. Did you know that, measured by ERA and/or WHIP, he was the 8th worst qualifying pitcher in 2014?

He's also been losing velocity on his fastball - even before his core issues in 2014 - and he's not getting any younger. I do think he'll improve significantly from last year (either that or he'll be bullpen bound), but he's going to have to learn to pitch while treating his FB as more of an average pitch than he has in the past, particularly if he wants to be one of the best in the game. Realistically, I see him being a good pitcher, but I think his days of him being a yearly CY/MVP candidate are over.
