Got to love that Peyton doesn't allow this kind of stuff to go to his head or the heads of the players on the team. It would be easy to look at how good they have been and get relaxed but with a guy like Peyton saying hey great job but look at all of these mistakes we made it makes life a little more uncomfortable. Honestly I think that was one of the things that happened last year was the Broncos won 11 games straight with very little resistance and just got too relaxed. They met a very motivated Ravens team that had been embarrassed by us just a few weeks earlier and playing for their emotional leader. I'm glad the Broncos are trying everything possible to keep the players motivated every week.

Here's his after column:

Out-Manning the Eagles

He went from saying the Broncos were "beatable" to: "Against the likes of the Eagles, Manning's dominance in the 52-20 win was inevitable."

I think every week writers of the other team are going to say "Well the Broncos haven't played anybody so far so now that they are actually playing a competent team like us we will be able to contain Peyton and score on this defense missing the two best players on that side of the ball. Also against the back up LT and back up Center we will definitely be able to get pressure on Peyton Manning." Then come the next day after the game go "well he is doing this to everybody so he is just that good." When is it that people stop saying the Broncos have played no one and just say this team is actually this good?

What is this nonsense?

Those afternoons are, by any measure, dwindling. Manning is 37, but he would probably trade his neck for the 78-year-old Plum's.

Neck is fine. A non issue. No idea why the writer even brought it up.

Why do they bring up his neck and age still? He is averaging a bajillion points a game and has not INTs.

He has even taken some hits between last year and this year, yet he is still "just one good hit away from a wheelchair." Curious.
