Nine goals allowed by Backlund and Bobrovsky tonight. Backlund took the worst of it, with 13 saves on 20 shots for a nice little .650 sv%. Bobrovsky stopped 13 of 15 shots, for a world-beater .867 sv%. Not the best effort for the 2 guys battling for the backup/1b role to start the season.

In other news, Carcillo, Testwuide, and Walker scored. Carcillo also added 20 penalty minutes. He got a misconduct and a game misconduct simultaneously. He's is still the only player I've ever seen get both at the same time. Not sure what he did, but Buffalo did not get a PP from it, and no one else on either team got a penalty. Hopefully, he did something to warrant a demotion to Adirondack.

Look at the rosters for this game. The Sabres dressed most of their Nhl roster while we dressed almost none of our Nhl roster. No Richards, Briere, Carter, Giroux, Leino, JvR, Hartnell, Pronger, Timonen, Carle, Coburn, O'Donnell or even Boucher to speak of. That is most of our team right there...lol

The Sabres meanwhile had their top players aside from Vanek. Roy, Connolly, Pominville, Myers, Hecht, Stafford, Gaustad, Miller and several other regulars were all dressed.

This was practically the Sabres vs. the Phantoms.

Unicef game for the sabres...sometimes you have to throw up a softball...lol...neither goalie was impressive...but playing phantoms hockey...kinda expected...
