A good result, but one of the worst officiated games I have ever seen. Wonder if this first week will convince the NFL to get a deal done with the real Zebras, of whom I am no real fan. But they certainly are better than this! :lm:

Go Giants! The SF kind!

horrible calls against both teams

The replacement refs forgot the number of timeouts in the AZ-Sea game

edit: oops shoulda read the entire thread first

That was pitiful. Took 'em about ten minutes to find out whether Seattle had a time out remaining. How touch can that be? All you have to do is be able to count to three! :L

They gave Seattle an extra timeout because they couldn't figure out what to do.

I think they were confused. (Really!?!?!)

Some thought they had charged Seattle a time out due to an injury in the last two minutes. The scoreboard operator "assumed" that was the case and took away the time out. But doesn't the head referee on the field keep track of that on a paper pad or something? Inconceivable!

Poor Blanco, ever since the perfect game he's just jumped off a cliff.

He swings wildly at balls out of the zone and makes no contact. And he routinely looks at balls in the middle of the zone. He isn't seeing the ball well at all. A 5th outfielder at best at the plate.

Sure glad not to be facing Kershaw tonight.

Wanna know why I'm late? No? Well I'll tell you anyway: I figured with Zito going against Kershaw, we had no chance to win this game. And I was feeling quite pantshatty about the whole thing.

No Kershaw? This is a game worth commenting about!! :)

Don't mind him sticking around, but we need to address LF next year.

Any ideas? Free agent choices not too impressive.

Edit: were you the one who mentioned Torii Hunter? Give him a two year deal an expect above average defense and decent power. I'd be happy with that (and resigning Pagan)

Josh Hamilton, Nick Swisher, Torii Hunter, BJ Upton, Mike Napoli should all be considered (assuming Pagan returns). But every guy comes with his share of concerns. Maybe a trade.

I'm focused on pennant chase baseball now.

Great play by Belt. Threw a strike to second.
