Apparently, the Giants cannot seem to be bothered to dfa Crick or switch Blanco to the 60 day in order to bring up a 3rd catcher or another hitter.

At this point, they could DFA Blanco if they have no intention of bringing him back... But 60'ing him is probably the "nicer" thing to do...

Seems weird to have him do rehab assignments if they had no plan to bring him up. Maybe they wanted to see how well he did. Got to wonder if they let him go this offseason.
What I really find puzzling, though, is that they refuse to off any of their pitchers from the 40 man roster but refuse to bring up the ones who are in AAA (Blackburn, Stratton, Gregorio).

Bochy has 14 relief pitchers, you think he's not gonna use them in a #7 SP game?
