I didn't know the Giants re-acquired Cory Gearrin.

Seems Moronta, and a few others in the bullpen, are tiring from being worked all season. If only the Giants had a guy in AAA that could come in as a fresh arm, someone who showed that he could get hitters out in the hitter friendly PCL . . .
You realize, of course, that pitches thrown in the minors are still pitches thrown. Right?

WHAT!?!?!? I always thought that they somehow didn't count and that's why I always heard about bringing up fresh arms for the team. I've been lied to!

The Giants are 8-18 when they get two walks or less, and they STILL refuse to work the count.

On the season they are 25-47 when not scoring first, which explains their sense of urgency in the first innings to score. /sarc

Aside: I know Shaw has not looked good, except for the monster bomb yesterday. But I say let Shaw keep playing. He has nothing to learn in the PCL. And he's not doing much worse than Belt, Longo and Crawford have been doing lately.

I do like how Bud Black brings in his closer with a 4-run lead. In this park that's basically a save.

Side note, how is a 4-run lead not a save situation? You can still blow a lead with 1 swing of the bat. Baseball is weird

Lost in all the cr@p of our continued non-hitting, plate impatience, bullpen meltdown, is that DRod pitched a helluva game at Coors. Six innings and only one run, though in trouble almost every inning. No small sphincter has he. Well done, lad!
