Not sure what Boch could have done differently there. He had to take Zito out, and you can't blow up your 'pen in the 6th inning. Those guys just didn't do their job.

Not sure what Boch could have done differently there. He had to take Zito out, and you can't blow up your 'pen in the 6th inning. Those guys just didn't do their job.

Shorter leash for Zeets, whose effectiveness plummets at about 90 pitches. Also ABM (Anyone But Mota). At this point, Mota gets called for mopping up slop when we are way ahead or way behind, but I don't trust him in close games.

But yeah, hind sight is 20/20. What a stinker of an inning, and a downer after a four run 1st inning? Thought the game was "over".

I totally agree with the bolded. Not sure why Boch is using Mota in so many key spots in games. My fear is he thinks he's the best guy for that middle relief role (since Affeldt/Romo/Lopez are being saved for the 8th/9th). That worries me.
