Well as has been beaten to death, it's not the starting pitching that's been our problem (tzill hasn't gotten the memo). Aces are necessary but you need SOME offense and a bullpen that isn't a flaming bag of shit.
In the playoffs, would you rather let Suarez start with Sammy in the pen, or start Sammy and put Suarez in the bully?

Yeah to me this isn't even a debate. Shark is a reliable #3 starter. The rotation is our ONLY ++ part of the team in these playoffs. You don't fuck with that.

Honestly this 2016 top 4 actually doesn't look that bad next to the 2010 top 4. And the lineup isn't really much worse (overall, slump included but first half too). But the bullpen is flat out shit compared to 2010.

There's your difference. But can we win 2010-2014 style? Vegas had us 26-1 odds this morning. Let's get in there and be the Cubs curse!

Magic number is 3 with 3 to play vs the Dodgers at home.

I refuse to not enjoy this.

Just watched Brian Price's post-game presser.

I like that guy. He really explained what happened in a very concise way. However, he says that by rule, the umps only have to wait 10 seconds, so there is no grounds for a protest. He said he feels bad for the bind it puts the Giants in.

What kind of rule is that? Especially in this situation. Get the call right.

I did just watch the interview too, and read Walt Jocketty's (Reds President of Baseball Operations) comments on the situation. It doesn't change what happened out there, but they seemed genuinely mad for the Giants' sake. At least it means they're trying hard out there. Or maybe just trying to screw a rival.

Agreed, but here's the thing: why the F didn't he challenge immediately? What did he have to lose???

Either way, they are doing what is right for integrates sake.

I don't blame Price or the Reds in the slightest for what happened. It is just a dumb-ass rule.

He had no reason to believe there was anything challenge-worthy. Are you suggesting that every last play of every game should be challenged, just because?

Yeah that was my initial reaction too, but as Cal said seeing that in real time it looked like a live-ball. Couldn't hear the phone with all the celebration noise, it took guys running up from the clubhouse to notify Price by which time the Umpires deemed too late (the 10 second rule).

I see what you're saying...I guess I'm looking at it in hindsight, where it's obviously challengable.
