I would be ok with Tromp (or Garcia) opening the season as the primary backup.

I wonder if A Garcia will even be around next year. Suddenly, the Giants have a glut of catching options in AAA and the big leagues.

Kaplar gets a pass for this season because of the pandemic. But his pitching decisions are puzzling. How do you put Webb into a high leverage situation like that? I mean, if you are going to use Webb at all, start a clean inning (not that it would help much). I know Kaplar does not have a reliable roster to work with, and the bullpen is crappy, but his decisions defy explanation.

Oh, and nice time to revert to 2017-2019 hitting.

Gausman’s pitches had some nice movement on them. The Giants should make a priority of locking him up this off season.
