I love the 5 game series.

Why the hell do the playoffs need to be 4 months long? By the time they crown NHL and NBA champs I'm already drunk on a beach. Baseball is fine as is.

Honestly, how many more days would that add? 5 tops?

A team that goes all season, gets 90 wins and finishes second in their division is lucky to have a shot at the playoffs at all.

Fair enough, but I like watching good teams with good players play in the fall.

Guess I walked right into that one. Regardless of who's playing though, I love good playoff baseball. Just excited that my team has a solid chance to be a part of that this year.

I'm with you. I fucking LOVE playoff baseball. It's all high drama, but in particular I LOVE elimination playoff games. With the current wild card format, we're guaranteed at least two elimination games.

Honestly, I don't think the MLB playoffs do a very good job at identifying the best team in any given year, so to me, it's all about drama, and I think one game wild card contests add a shitton of drama.

My opinion is that if you don't like the idea of a one-game play in, then win your division.
