I should mention that the Giants face a rookie pitcher sporting a 8.18 ERA in 33 IP in the big leagues. This could be ugly.

Can the Barraclough experiment only happen when the team is up or down by 8 runs?

Because he had a nice WHIP at AAA? No, that was Williams Jerez. Barraclough's numbers were awful there too. But the talk was he had like 5 good outings in a row, which earned his promotion. There were quite a few other pitchers who were much more deserving of that promotion. I'd have rather seen Barraclough get dfa'd today than Jerez.

Unfortunately, most of the AAA starters this year seem like their MLB futures, if they have any are in the bullpen (Suarez, Anderson, Webb, Beede, Rodriguez).
