Petit showing grit...he's got a shot at the QS...
How a career .250 hitter with no pop, average defense, and minimal speed is considered a viable solution for left field for multiple years in the majors is beyond me...
Blanco? He's not "considered a viable solution" by anyone I've read. He's a good fourth/fifth OF.
To allow LF to be a black hole for 6yrs is unacceptable for any organization, especially a storied franchise like the Giants
"unacceptable?" They won two effing WS.
You want some cheese with that whine?
When swinging at the 1st pitch, the Giants are 28th in MLB with a .315 average (the ROX are 1st with a .378 average)
The Giants have also hit into 31 double plays on the first pitch, which leads the majors.
The Giants are dead last in homers on the 1st pitch with 7 (Milwaukee has 35)
The Giants are dead last in OPS and SLG on the first pitch.
So, why, exactly, are the hitters continuing their remorseless attack on the first pitch they see?
Ahh...the old one runner leash. QS not endangered. aaaannnnnd....its Mijares.
Im well aware of what they have accomplished in the last 3yrs. I'm simply stating that one shouldnt condone mediocrity at a position for more than half a decade because of recent success. Just because you win a title the year before doesnt mean you ignore glaring weaknesses in a stagnant offense.
