Sometimes we forget that Sabes/Bochy are not the only ones who have a say in the moves. The players have a say as well, and he may want nothing to do with the Giants org anymore (barring zero interest from another org, of course).
I can see all of the above. Still, as Cal says, if Nate has no nibbles from elsewhere, don't you think McCovey Cove would be nicer two months than Danville?
When Nate left, he wanted to be a full time starter. Under Noggin, that was never going to happen. Nate had a fine year in Chi Town last year, and showed off some of the skills we witnessed here. Alas, this year has been a total meltdown. Must be the backfoot slider issue again. The man and the team are the same, and the manager and GM, but Nate's situation has changed. Right now, he appears to be out of baseball, or waiting in limbo until picked up by some other team. To be released by the Chubs, the worst team in baseball, is pretty bad, though.
I have no vested interest in signing Nate, just posted it for discussion purposes. And a discussion has been happening.
That said, if the attitude is right, I think he could help.
